The 2026 Visiting Winemaker Series at Talon Lodge: A Celebration of Wine, Wilderness, and World-Class Hospitality

At Talon Lodge & Spa, we believe that extraordinary experiences are created at the intersection of place, people, and passion. Nowhere is that more evident than in our highly anticipated 2026 Visiting Winemaker Series—a curated collection of immersive weeks where Alaska’s finest fishing meets some of Napa Valley’s most celebrated winemakers.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Sitka, Alaska—where rugged coastlines meet pristine waters—this series offers guests an unparalleled opportunity to engage with iconic wineries while enjoying the full Talon Lodge experience: luxury accommodations, gourmet cuisine, and unforgettable adventure.

A 2026 Lineup Worth Traveling For

May: Galante Vineyards

Jack and Dawn Galante will feature their wines in May, when the whales will be celebrating the start of summer.

Kicking off the season is Galante Vineyards, a Carmel Valley favorite known for bold reds and authentic ranch heritage. Their wines bring structure, depth, and a story rooted in California’s frontier spirit—perfectly paired with Alaska’s wild landscape.

Guests will enjoy intimate tastings, fireside conversations, and curated wine dinners where Galante’s robust Cabernet Sauvignons and rich reds complement fresh-caught halibut, salmon, and seasonal ingredients prepared by our culinary team.

July: B Cellars

Wines from the finest grapes in Napa are featured with B Cellars wines.

In July, we welcome B Cellars—renowned for their culinary-driven approach to winemaking. This is more than wine; it’s a complete gastronomic experience.

B Cellars specializes in handcrafted blends designed specifically for food pairing. During their hosted week, guests can expect elevated tasting experiences, behind-the-scenes insights into blending, and extraordinary dinners where each course is intentionally matched to showcase both the wine and Alaska’s exceptional seafood.

August: Venge Vineyards & Croix Estate Wines

Kirk Venge enjoys entertaining Talon guests at the world-famous beach bar!

Closing out the series is an exceptional collaboration featuring Venge Vineyards and Croix Estate Wines—two standout producers representing the pinnacle of Napa Valley power and Sonoma Coast elegance. From Venge’s bold, expressive Cabernet Sauvignons to Croix Estate’s refined, terroir-driven Pinot Noirs, this week delivers a dynamic contrast of styles. Guests will gain rare access to the philosophies and craftsmanship behind each label, all while enjoying curated pairings and unforgettable evenings in our oceanfront lodge.

More Than a Wine Event—An Immersive Alaska Experience

The Visiting Winemaker Series is seamlessly woven into the Talon Lodge Signature Experience, which includes:

  • Three full days of guided saltwater sportfishing in the abundant waters surrounding Sitka
  • Gourmet dining prepared by our team of chefs, featuring Alaska’s freshest seafood
  • Luxury accommodations with panoramic ocean views
  • Exclusive wine tastings and hosted dinners with each visiting winery
  • Optional adventures include ATV safaris, kayaking, hiking, and wildlife viewing

This is not a typical wine event—it’s a fully immersive journey where each day begins with adventure and ends with world-class wine and cuisine.

Why This Series Stands Apart

What makes the Talon Lodge Visiting Winemaker Series truly unique is the intimacy and authenticity. With just a small number of guests each week, every experience feels personal—whether you’re discussing vineyard practices with a winemaker over dinner or sharing stories after a day on the water.

It’s this combination of Alaska fishing lodge adventure and refined culinary excellence that defines Talon Lodge as one of the premier luxury destinations in North America.
