When people visit Talon Lodge, they have an unforgettable experience. Often, many of our guests about their experience after their trip. A few years ago, Talon Lodge hosted the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute\u2019<\/a>s (ASMI) culinary retreat. ASMI flew in two chefs who prepared freshly caught salmon and other seafood in our outdoor bar area. Many of the guests wrote about the trip, and included stunning photography. We think it\u2019s worth it to visit these blogs: The gorgeous photos of Alaska, and the descriptions of the fishing and the beauty of the area offer a wonderful glimpse into Sitka.<\/p>\n

\"Talon<\/p>\n

La Tartine Gourmande<\/h3>\n

In her post, \u201cThe Fish of Alaska<\/a>,\u201d food writer, photographer, and stylist B\u00e9a, writes of the beauty of Sitka, including the layers of fog, glaciers, snow-capped mountains, and the \u201cconnection to the earth.\u201d She explores the constitutional mandate in Alaska that requires the sustainability of fishing in Sitka and across the state. We encourage you to read her blog to discover more about her stay at the lodge! Her thoughts on the trip:<\/p>\n

A Less Processed Life<\/h2>\n

The post \u201cFive Things I Learned in Alaska<\/a>,\u201d written by Susan, a blogger and science editor, explores the \u201camazing experience\u201d of watching professional chefs cook in our outdoor kitchen. She also discusses how much she recommends Talon Lodge, saying:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe accommodations were cozy and comfortable, the meals were delicious, the views were stunning, and lodge owners Phil and Gwen \u2013 along with their entire staff \u2013 were incredibly friendly and welcoming.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sippity Sup<\/h3>\n

Food blogger Greg also traveled to Sitka with ASMI, and stayed at our lodge. He writes of the experience in his post \u201cAlaska Seafood: Cook it Frozen<\/a>,\u201d that the \u201cstraight from the ocean fish\u201d he ate while staying here was \u201csome of the best stuff I\u2019ve eaten in my life.\u201d He continues, saying this about Talon Lodge:<\/p>\n

Cannellevanille<\/h3>\n

The Cannellevanille blog is written by Aran, a freelance food writer, photographer, and stylist. She also traveled to Sitka, Alaska with ASMI. In her blog \u201csitka, alask<\/a>a,\u201d she says she was impressed with the sustainability plan for the Alaskan fish and wildlife. She, too, enjoyed Talon Lodge, saying of the beautiful island that it was a:<\/p>\n
